Welcome to Lizard Creek Quilting...it all started some time ago! I started sewing in the 5th grade by making myself a pair of pj's out of feed sacks from my Great Grandmother Maude. That moved on to making most of my clothing during high school. From a 3 piece suit to my Senior Prom dress, and all of this was self-taught as my Mother didn't sew and claimed that her left-handedness hindered her from helping me.
Fast forward a few years and I became a stay at home Mom to 2 children and a go-fer for my farmer husband. In 1993 I took a road trip with some friends to Country Threads in Garner, Iowa and I was forever hooked on quilting--I say it was a reward for living through my son's terrible two's!!

I did the craft show thing, selling country items and later on finished quilts for 15 years. All that time working on improving my piecing and quilting skills. I quilted all my own projects, first on my original Singer, next on a 1530 Bernina, and now I have moved on to my APQS Freedom longarm.
My husband, son and I remodeled a garage stall in our machine shed into the quilting studio, which is a pet free and smoke free environment as is our home.
I continue to learn new things about quilting and love listening to how each quilt tells me that it needs to be quilted.
